2011 - Khanom - Krabi
Khanom, a hidden gem in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, is best known as the home of the rare pink dolphins. I didn’t have enough time on this trip to go out and see them, but it’s already on my list for the next visit. Just knowing that these gentle creatures live so close to the quiet beaches of Khanom makes the place feel even more special.
From Khanom, we hopped on a local van to Krabi, a ride of about 2.5–3 hours. Once there, we rented a scooter — the easiest way to explore freely.
Krabi is world-famous, especially for Phi Phi Island, but this time we skipped the island tours. Instead, we stayed two nights at Centara Ao Nang beach Resort soaking in the relaxing vibes of the beach. Our highlight was exploring the natural hot springs tucked away in the lush greenery outside the city — the perfect way to unwind after traveling.
